The word Alkira is from the indigenous word meaning “sky”, and the many patios and terraces of Alkira ensure that guests stay connected to the fresh air and endless vistas that surrounds us. Music Room Our world class Feurich grand piano hosts concerts by acclaimed international and local musicians and is available by agreement for musical guests who need to keep their fingers nimble. Ask about our private 'Salons' where house guests mingle with international music stars and enjoy the hospitality of Alkira Lodge during a 3 to 5 day musical residency and a 'bucket list' opportunity to gain insight into the creative life of these musicians. Library & TV Room The library is a meeting breakaway space or it can provide a quiet space to find a new read, to curl up on a couch, or to get your TV fix. Full selection of DSTV and Satellite Channels, Netflix and You Tube, or plug in your own device and stream. Bar Help yourself to a drink from our bar any time or visit our cellar to choose a delicious South African wine. Settle in to watch the sun slip into the ocean or curl up on a sofa fireside; find your place to sip your favourite drink and revisit the special moments of your day. Kitchen Our superb chef is on hand to prepare dinner each night so that our guests can relax and enjoy superb in house hospitality and delicious flavors from the kitchen. For guests who take exclusive private use of Alkira Lodge and really want to get into the kitchen, they are welcome to make use of our fully equipped kitchen, bbq's and wood fired pizza oven. Slow Lounge and small conference space For individuals or small groups those who need to remain connected to the working world, the slow lounge is a versatile space complete with Wi-Fi and picture windows opening to the internal courtyard and plenty of fresh air to keep the brain active.

Fresh bread from our local Artisanal bakers, a delicious salad of in- season fruits, yoghurts, homemade preserves, local cheeses, house muesli to a secret recipe, eggs to your taste and bottomless cappuccino. Perfect! This is also your chance to discuss activities of the day with your hosts, to get advice, local tips and help with any reservations. Gardens and Games The croquet competition can get fierce, the badminton is a test for the whole family and there are board games and cards for quiet moments or rainy days on the terrace.
